Alban Claret is a French jazz guitarist and composer who was born in Perpignan in 1987. He started playing the guitar at the age of eight and later studied at the Royal Conservatory of the Netherlands with Martijn van Iterson. He has performed with many renowned musicians, such as Gregory Hutchinson, David Liebman, Nigel Price and Duncan Eagles . He is also the co-leader of the quintet Claret & Clegg, along with trumpeter Evan Clegg, which released their debut album The Collection in May 2021. The album features original compositions inspired by bebop legends like Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and Lennie Tristano. Alban Claret is known for his powerful delivery, confident improvisation and deep swing . He is currently based in London and performs regularly at various jazz venues and festivals .
