Chuck Redd and Nat Steele – Duelling Vibes

Plans are in place for some new jazz events in Battersea in the coming months. Until then, there is a very exciting gig coming up on the afternoon of Saturday 19th October at Pizza Express Dean Street.

Battersea Jazz Festival founder Hugo Jennings will be bringing over an American jazz legend for a gig featuring not one, but two vibraphones on stage. Esteemed percussionist Chuck Redd, who was Mel Tormé's vibraphonist for five years, as well as a drummer/vibes player for many other huge names in jazz, will be coming over from Washington D.C. to play alongside Nat Steele, one of the best vibes players ever to come out of this country, in a night celebrating the music of Terry Gibbs, Milt Jackson, and others.
