The Richmond Rhythm Club originated from classes in jazz history taught at Richmond Adult College by the pianist and trombonist Eddie Harvey, a contemporary of Ronnie Scott and John Dankworth and a pioneer of jazz education at a time when it barely existed in the UK. The original students later formed a breakaway group, continuing the sessions in the nearby Orange Tree pub.
Eddie is no longer with us but the Club carries on. We are now based at the Twickenham Club, 7 Church Street, TW1 3NJ.
